How to assemble your Comfortaire Adjustable Air Mattress

NOTE: Prices do not include a foundation. Any straight foundation, box spring, platform, floor, etc. will work as long as the sizes match. We recommend buying a foundation locally.

Cerenity ASSEMBLY
Step 1
Place the cover on the box spring, foundation, or platform with quilted side up. The mattress label should be at the foot of the bed. Unzip and remove the quilted top panel. Insert foam sidewalls with rounded corners into two ends of mattress. Insert foam sidewall supports along side of mattress. Middle of foam rail should bow slightly toward middle of bed (see illustration B).

Step 2
Place the air chamber(s) inside the foam siderails. Insert the hose through the holes(s) at head of cover. Unbox air control unit and slide hose ends from chamber onto plastic pump nozzle (indicated in illustration D). Secure hose to fitting by attaching zip lock clamp over hose nozzle.

Step 3
Plug in the air unit into electrical outlet and push the button marked firm until chambers will begin to fill cavity (approximately 70% of capacity). The chambers will begin to form the slightly bound sidewalls into their finished straight position. Make sure that sidewalls are in straight and are pushed out to the edge of mattress cover.

Step 4
Place convoluted topper pad on top of air chambers. This pad should only cover chambers - not out to edge of mattress. Zip top panel of cover on and inflate to 100% capacity (see illustration F). See operation for details of using your Comfortaire.

OPERATION

For years people have been told that a firm mattress will provide the support that they need. What is a firm mattress? According to these illustrations, what we really need is a mattress that will evenly apply pressure to the entire body - removing pressure points.

As you lie on your Comfortaire mattress, immediately following assembly, you are experiencing an extremely firm mattress. In an attempt to understand the benefits of air, release approximately 7 seconds of air; you will begin to notice the conforming properties of air and it will become easier to breathe. Remove another 7 seconds of air. Having released approximately 14 seconds of air, stay in this position for approximately 3-5 minutes. Now, take a few deep breaths again, and then begin to add the 14 seconds of air that you have released. You will notice immediate restriction in the the lower back and chest. Also, breathing will become more difficult. At this point it will become very obvious to you that hard and flat is not good for your sleep.

Now take some time and find your comfort level (it will be interesting for you to see how different your sleeping partner sets his or her level).
