The Original Air Support Sleep System

HOW DREAMAIRE MATTRESSES SOLVE
YOUR SLEEP AND BACK PROBLEMS

Most people are unable to sleep on their back due to little or no support in the low lumbar region, yet sleeping on our back is the healthiest possible position to sleep. On our back, we distribute our body weight across the widest surface of our body, which minimizes pressure points and our internal organs are in proper alignment.

The Dreamaire sleep system actually conforms to your body (look at the image above), providing more support than traditional innerspring mattresses. Pressure points are relieved, you toss and turn less, and you sleep more soundly.

You may think that firmer mattresses provide better support, but once you sleep on a Dreamaire you will realize that softer settings cradle you, ease tension and strain, and encourage back sleeping. You can still pump it up to the firmest setting, but we'll bet that you'll prefer to be cradled!

On your side, you are now placing your entire body weight on the narrowest part of your body, which creates extreme pressure points on your shoulders and your hips. These pressure points cause the average person to toss and turn 80 times a night. If the average man and woman weighs 150 pounds, multiplied by 80, will result in the average person moving over 12,000 pounds of weight. It's no wonder we don't rest properly.

Do you notice pressure on your shoulders?
This is why our hands get numb while sleeping. You are now placing all of your upper body weight on your shoulder which cuts off circulation. You are actually applying a tourniquet to your shoulder, and your shoulder is forced into your neck, and you are not comfortable. Your shoulder is compressed into an unnatural position, placing stress on the muscles of the shoulder and neck. This constant abuse will often aggravate shoulder and neck pain.

Do you notice the pressure on your hip?
We are all wider in our shoulders and hips, which creates pressure points. Firm innerspring mattresses tend to force our hips upward, resulting in poor bed posture. The hips are high and the knees are much lower. The knees are much lower, which misaligns our hip. The waist area sinks downward, as our shoulder is forced upward, which misaligns the spine. It's no wonder we toss and turn all night long. You can readily see that our body's are not flat, and our curved bodies will not conform to a flat mattress.

It's more difficult to breathe on your back, because the pressure on your shoulder is compressing the chest cavity. Your internal organs shift to one side, and one lung is now compressing the other, restricting expansion of the lungs.

Reduced pressure points
If your body is properly supported and you can breathe easier, doesn't it make sense that you will receive a better night's rest? And our rest is very important to our overall health.

It's funny, we spend thousands of dollars on comfortable fitted clothing which conforms to our curved bodies, yet every night we try to force our curved bodies to conform to a flat bed.

What it really boils down to is, which way would you rather sleep at night? Relaxed and totally supported with unrestricted breathing and minimum pressure points? Or uncomfortable with pressure points, which cause you to toss and turn all night long?

Innerspring mattresses are constructed of coils of wire for support and foam padding for comfort. But, as the mattress ages, the coils begin to lose memory as they are compressed 8 hours a day. This is why we must rotate a coil mattress regularly. And, the foam padding begins to compress and deteriorate, resulting in body impressions in the mattress. When this occurs, support and comfort are diminished, which compounds as the mattress ages. Comfortaire virtually eliminates these problems and lasts years longer.
