Over the years Tom
Budzynski has created and tested a number of techniques that meet these
requirements. They include: priming process (a form of subliminal
messaging), dichotic listening (creating a tense state), multiple
voice tracks, whisper tracks, and hypnotic/priming
combinations. Each of these approaches tends to avoid critical
screening and each contains messaging that can be understood by the
respective hemisphere to which it is delivered.

Priming Self-esteem
Why does it seem that many
well-educated, motivated individuals try desperately all of their lives to
reach financial security and yet seemed doomed to failure? Sure the road
to wealth and prosperity demands hard work, persistence and vision, but
there is one very important ingredient that is almost always overlooked.
That one extremely key factor is an unconscious "script"
implanted in early life that goes something like this, "No matter
what you do you'll never succeed because you don't deserve it."
Another might be, "You'll never be as good as your brother (father,
sister, etc.)." One that often holds back females is, "You're
just a girl, no wonder you can't do ---." Many of these scripts were
imparted not only with cruel words but also by disgusting facial grimaces
on the part of important adults. Even though we may have managed to get an
education we may find ourselves sabotaging success some way, somehow. This
tape was created expressly to help counter these scripts. It needs to be a
priming process tape because that does operate on the unconscious level
where this early negative script lives. If you feel you may have been
victimized by such a script seek professional help from qualified
counselors or therapists, but you may want to give this tape/CD a try as
well.
This CD is identical to Priming Self-esteem except that an unusual hypnotic track has been
added using an Ericksonian technique that multiplies the effect.

If you frequently suffer from feelings of inadequacy when others around you seem to deal with twists and turns with humor and resilience, the problem may be low self-esteem. This tape provides very positive priming phrases and the theme is focused on countering many of the self-esteem diminishing attitudes given to you early in life. These are deeply embedded attitudes and it will take time and frequent usage to counter them. An earlier version of this tape was demonstrated to have successfully increased self-esteem in adult Type A males compared with a control group who heard a tape with neutral priming messages (Education, 1989, 110, 50-56). |

The REVITALIZER tape has proven to be one of the best
of the stress management audio cassettes. Its short duration
(approximately 12 minutes) allows users to take advantage of its
stress reducing properties several times a day. Because of this
the tape tends to be used more than longer tapes. In fact, tapes
over 20 minutes are rarely used more than a few weeks because it
is difficult in the hectic scheduling of today's workday to fit in
"down" periods greater than 20 minutes.
"Indeed learning how to cope with the
skipped heart beats has been the most difficult aspect of my
recovery. But I do believe that the Revitalizer tape, because it
enables me to really relax and breathe in the zone, so to speak,
has a profound effect that helps to normalize all of the body
functions including heart rate/rhythm."
The REVITALIZER incorporates a triple track technique
carefully designed and refined by Tom Budzynski, Ph.D. over a two
year period of development. A center voice is buttressed by left
and right track whisper voices which augment the message of the
center track. A specially designed tone, called Hypersynch"
plans softly in the background. It helps by gently influencing
brain activity (EEG) in a relaxed direction, and then, at the end,
urging it to an alert state. The result is a very relaxed feeling
which is felt immediately after the tape, followed by an alert,
energized state which develops approximately 2 to 10 minutes after
the tape ends.
Test data provided by Dr. Budzynski shows a reduction of muscle
tension, electrodermal response (sweat gland response to stress)
and heart rate during the period of listening to the tape. Before
the tape was played the subjects had already rested nearly 20
minutes. Hand temperature was raised an average of 10o
F. during listening. Heart rate was lowered by 10 beats per
minute. The relaxed state was maintained following the playing of
the tape.
The benefits to people who experience panic symptoms is
obvious. The REVITALIZER will help them practice relaxation
with benefits to heart rate, tension and the sympathetic nervous
system arousal. The latter is measured by hand temperature and the
electrodermal response.
It is recommended that the REVITALIZER be played through
a stereo player.
