Simply put, the SP Lite cannot be repaired as it is a fully sealed unit. Because of this, the warranty is only available for 6 months. The SP Lite can be operated by an external power source like an AC-DC Wall Adaptor, Automobile Battery, or Solar Panel. If you wish to power the SP Lite with a wall transformer, your options are:
Purchase a local Wall Adaptor with:  6-12 Volt DC output, 500mA (milli-amps) or more, Center Positive, 2.1mm Plug.
Additionally, the SP Lite may also be operated directly from a 12 Volt DC Battery like an automobile cigarette lighter. You will need to purchase an Adaptor cord which plugs into the cigarette lighter and has a Centre Positive, 2.1mm Plug. Radio Shack® usually has these Adaptors.
