Silvonic Automatic Colloidal Silver Maker Instructions

LIFETIME WARRANTY: Elixa will repair or replace the SILVONIC CS Generator as long as you own it! (Void if back opened, output leads connected to power, or physically damaged.)

Silvonic with the Universal (110-240V) AC power supply. It will work with any power source between 12 and 36 volts DC (or 12-26V AC). If it runs at all, it will run right. You can’t hook it up the wrong way. Set it and forget it. You'll always get perfect CS automatically!  Connect three 9V batteries in series (snap positive into negative) to make a 27V power supply. Connect clips to open + and - battery poles and connect plug to Silvonic power jack. Or use a Solar Panel that puts out at least 12V at 1 Watt.

The 3.5" circular electrode holder fits over standard jars and glasses to keep out dust.
Spacing of the electrode pair determines the strength in PPM (parts per million) of the CS. Depending on the water, temperature, and various intangibles, when the device stops, the PPM may read higher or lower than the electrode spacing indicates. See note below. Unplug from power and restart to make it stronger up to the limit of the spacing.
NOTE: PPM matters less than particle size. TDS meters only give an approximation of strength. 5-10 PPM CS works best internally. Instead of making it stronger, just take more. If CS has more than a faint yellow color, it has too many large particles. Use externally.

SILVONIC Automatic Colloidal Silver Maker Instructions

CAUTION: Connect output wires only to the silver rods, not to power.

IMPORTANT: The SILVONIC switches off when it detects sufficient electrical conductivity. If you use water that contains minerals, the light will shut off quickly. Check the PPM of the water first with a TDS meter or shine a laser pointer into the water. Good distilled water will not show a beam. Distilled water should read 0-2 PPM. Subtract the starting PPM from the final reading after the CS sits for an hour to determine strength. To restart, disconnect from power and reconnect.

1.) Insert the silver rods into the electrode holder holes parallel in both planes. Attach the output lead clips to the taller ends of the rods. The inner set of holes will make the generator turn off at about 5 PPM (Parts Per Million) after stabilization. The next set of holes yields about 10 PPM, the next about 15 PPM. Note: PPM matters less than the size of the particles and ionic proportion. TDS meters only give an approximation of strength. Colloidal Silver above 15 PPM may have overly large particles, best used topically. 5 to 10 PPM Colloidal Silver works best internally. Instead of making it stronger, just drink more! If you want to make CS with more than about 15 PPM, get the Silvonic with switches that override the auto-shutoff

2.) Fill a glass container (8-16 ounces) with distilled water. Reverse osmosis, de-ionized water, or rain may work. (See “Water Test” on next page.) If the water has minerals and the generator turns off fairly fast, use the next set of holes. A TDS meter should read 0-2 PPM for pure water needed for smallest particles. Larger batches may need stirring. A little heat from a lamp works.

3.) Place the circular Electrode Holder on top of the container with the electrodes inserted into the desired PPM holes. They should hold themselves in place due to their springiness. If loose, spread the ends apart a bit.

Power Input: Connect output wires only to silver, not power!
The SILVONIC has a power cable with clips on different color wires that plugs into the large socket opposite from the two output leads with same color wires. Attach the clips to any power source between 12 and 36 volts DC (or 12-26V AC). If it runs at all, it will run right. You cannot hook it up the wrong way. No polarity problems. For example, 3 or 4 nine volt batteries hooked together, solar panels, automobile batteries or chargers will work. Unplug between uses.

The Auto-Off SWAP circuit monitors conductivity and shuts off automatically at the desired strength. In any of the electrode positions, if you run a batch and let it stabilize for several hours, then restart (disconnect the power cord and plug back in), the PPM will increase until the generator won’t stay running at all. Trying for a concentration beyond 25 ppm gets “iffy” quality-wise. Quart batches may require 3 restarts as well as some stirring.

Brewing time: A pint (1 liter) batch may take 8 hours or so using the 15 PPM electrode position and room temp water. Heating the water will decrease the brew time and induce thermal stirring. Don’t exceed 120º F. Faster CS Generators cannot make the finest CS. The Silvonic shuts itself off, so just set it and forget it!

The LED light on top of the case will turn from green to red showing the change in electrode polarity every 3 minutes or so. This SWAP technique minimizes build-up on the rods and the need to stir, as well as making the electrodes wear evenly. The LED will not light up unless the electrodes are in water. The LED brightness indicates current flow. With very pure water, it may take a while to see the light. To confirm that the device works, touch the output clips or the silver electrodes together briefly and watch the light turn on. If you touch them together long enough, the light will go out which indicates that the automatic shut-off works. To restart, unplug from power and reconnect.

Electrode care: Lightly wipe clean after brewing with a cloth or plastic abrasive pad, but do not scrub hard. If you see much build-up on the electrodes, pull them out of the water and wipe them off, then put them back in the water. Very pure water will prevent this build-up. You can pour the CS through a coffee filter or decant it if you see much “crud” in the CS although it won't hurt you. One pair of electrodes should make approximately 100 gallons of 10 PPM Colloidal Silver when used in the automatic SWAP mode.
Storage: The CS you make with the SILVONIC will stay potent and stable for a long time (months) but probably works best when used fresh. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Exposure to light will not harm properly brewed CS. Store in a non-metal container. We prefer glass, but good quality plastic works too (recyclable #1 “PETE”).

Color:
Ideally clear but pale yellow works well too. Various environmental factors and contaminants can make CS turn colors.
Adding 1 drop 3% Hydrogen Peroxide per 4-8 oz to colored CS breaks the particles apart and clears out the color. Using less takes longer.
Some claim that adding Peroxide to any CS makes it work better, but don't "start" a batch with CS that has Peroxide in it. Adding H2O2 too soon will instantly turn the CS murky white or brown. Try a sample before doing a large batch.

Automatic Shutoff: The SILVONIC turns off in Automatic Mode when its comparator circuit detects conductivity of 15-20 microSiemens (µS), not always the same thing as PPM. Shutoff can be tested using tap water. It should shut off quickly. Once it shuts off, disconnect from power and reconnect to start again.

Advanced brewing techniques: Seeding the water with some CS of a previous batch will speed things up, as will starting at the 5 PPM electrode position, then going to the 15 PPM, then 25 PPM position. Continuous Batching: Take some CS, top off the container with distilled water, and restart (remove power and plug back in).

Water Test: (If you don't have a TDS meter)
1] Plug everything in with the electrodes in the 15 PPM (1.5” apart) position.
2] Short the electrodes together briefly with a spoon to see how bright the LED shines at max current flow.
3] You may have noticed that the LED brightens up as you lower the generator and electrodes into the water and gets dimmer as you pull it out. If it doesn't dim as you pull it out or it gets fully bright before it’s nearly seated in the container, the water has too many contaminants (minerals and chemicals). The LED may be too dim to see in a brightly lit room when using very pure water. If the LED doesn't get dimmer as you first start to pull the electrodes from the water, the water has too many impurities. Make sure you have properly distilled water.

Using the SILVONIC generator as a meter to check progress:
Submerge properly positioned (parallel in both planes) electrodes into the water in the 15 PPM hole position. Raise and lower them in the water to find the exact point where the LED shines brightest. A semi darkened room helps to see the change. If the light looks brightest with about 2.75" of electrode in the water (full exposure), the water has conductivity of 5 µS or less, which yields about 5 ppm when the solution stabilizes.
1.5" = 12 µS (about half done). 1/8" = 20 µS or more (done or nearly done).
Note: µS/cm (microSiemens per cm, the measure of conductivity) = approx. PPM of the CS after stabilization.

Thermal Stirring: Making a pint or less does not require stirring but it may improve the CS. Painting or applying dark tape to one side of the container and exposing to sunshine or a nearby light (eg, desk lamp) will stir the water by applying a temperature difference, making the warmer water rise and the cooler water sink.

The SILVONIC Plus adds 2 switches: a DC mode (non-alternating) that will brew faster by disabling the SWAP function and a Manual Mode so it will not shut off automatically. Switch to SWAP and AUTO for auto-shutoff.

2 optional switches for other brewing techniques ($20 upgrade):
>DC mode
(non-alternating) that will brew faster by disabling the SWAP (
Low Frequency AC) function.
>Manual Mode
prevents auto shut-off to maximize concentration to over 25 ppm.

>Set switches to SWAP and AUTO for fully automatic operation.

LIFETIME WARRANTY: Elixa will repair or replace the SILVONIC CS Generator as long as you own it! (Void if back opened, output leads connected to power, or physically damaged.)

*Troubleshooting.
Note: The Silvonic does not malfunction unless the output leads get connected to power, so look for other reasons first. Because it has a very sophisticated circuit, it will not work in impure water unless you have the Silvonic Plus model with extra switches that let you override the automatic SWAP mode.

>"The light comes on and then goes off when I put the rods in the water."
The water has too many impurities. Try another brand of distilled water.

>"I touch the output wires together but the light shuts off right away."
This shows that the device turns on properly and shuts off automatically because it sees no resistance as it would in a completed batch of CS.

>"I hook it up to a 9V battery and the light doesn't come on when I touch the output leads together."
It takes a minimum of 12V to run.

>"I used a different AC power supply and it doesn't work although the plug seems to fit." Even though the plug may seem to fit, it may have a different size inner hole and will not make an electrical connection.

>"The CS turns yellow."
You made it stronger than 10ppm. It still works but clear CS works better internally. Use the yellow stuff topically on cuts, burns, athlete's foot, dandruff, etc.
